The escalation of the military conflict in Ukraine makes it increasingly likely that a new wave of refugees will arrive in Poland this winter. It is currently estimated that up to 800 thousand Ukrainian refugees could enter Poland during the coming months. This is happening at a time when the Polish government is further reducing the financial support provided for Ukrainian refugees.

A demonstration was held in Warsaw on Wednesday 19 October against the removal of bridging pensions, which protect workers employed in especially physically demanding work.

A demonstration by education workers took place on 15 October in the centre of Warsaw, following a week-long ‘tent protest’  protest in Poland’s capital.  Throughout the week teachers met with those wanting to talk about the situation in education in the country, and held meetings with politicians and social activists about changes in education. They formulated a set of demands, which were presented at Saturday's demonstration.

On 15 September 2022, the Provincial Administrative Court (WSA) in Białystok upheld the complaints of the Ombudsman and the representative of a family of seven Egypt citizens against them being unwillingly ‘pushed back’ over the border from Poland to Belarus.
